Builders, joiners and roofers in Easingwold

Extensions, kitchens, bathrooms, renovations, roofing, landscaping and bespoke joinery for homeowners and businesses in Easingwold and the surrounding area.

Easingwold is a Georgian market town in North Yorkshire, around 40 miles inland from our base in Scarborough and about 12 miles north of York, sitting at the foot of the Howardian Hills. We work across Easingwold and the surrounding area.

The town grew up around a market charter granted in 1639, and its Friday market still runs in the same spacious, part-cobbled Market Square, ringed by late-Georgian buildings. That period left Easingwold with real architectural consistency — 51 Grade II listed buildings, including, unusually, five milestones and a telephone kiosk — protected today within the Easingwold Conservation Area, which covers Long Street, the parish church and Church Hill, and the older Uppleby area. North Yorkshire Council also holds an Article 4 direction covering parts of Spring Street and Uppleby, withdrawing some permitted development rights so that minor changes affecting the conservation area's character — the kind of small alterations that wouldn't normally need permission elsewhere — go through planning control instead.

Whether it's a kitchen renovation, an extension, a re-roof or a bespoke joinery piece for a Georgian townhouse on Long Street or a newer home on the edge of town, one team handles design, quoting and build from first visit to handover.

    Common questions in Easingwold

Real, area-specific questions we get asked around Easingwold.

Yes — North Yorkshire Council holds an Article 4 direction covering parts of Spring Street and Uppleby in Easingwold, which withdraws some permitted development rights so that minor external works affecting the conservation area's character need planning permission, rather than being automatically allowed. It's specific to those areas rather than the whole town, so it's worth checking whether your address is covered. We do that as part of the initial site visit, before quoting.
