Driveways fail from below: a thin sub-base, no drainage, or edging that lets the surface spread. We treat the groundwork as the job and the surface as the finish, which is the same way we build patios and foundations.
Common questions
Straight answers on driveways.
Not if the surface is permeable, or if rainwater drains to a lawn or border rather than the road. A new impermeable driveway over 5 square metres that drains to the highway does need permission. Resin-bound and correctly laid block paving are both permeable options.
