Technically professional, not a budget trade operator
Scarborough has a lot of small joinery and building firms doing honest work at volume. We've built our name doing the opposite: fewer projects, more design time up front, and a finish that holds up to close inspection, whether that's a homeowner's kitchen or a public-sector building refurbishment.
The design discipline and build standard don't change between a garden room and a commercial fit-out, only the scale does, which is why we've never seen a reason to specialise narrowly in one sector over the other.

Ask for proof of insurance, a written itemised quote rather than a verbal estimate, references from recent jobs of a similar scale, and how they handle unexpected costs once work has started. A contractor who won't put a quote in writing, or can't name a recent similar job, is a reasonable red flag.
